DESANDAR EL TIEMPO

UN VIAJE POR EL SURESTE MEXICANO

The chronic of a research, a reunion with the visual memory of the streets, an interdisciplinary project of artistic experimentation that sets the dialogue between social memory, ephemeral architecture, advertising signs, and the passage of time. The paintings and signs on building's facades recount the recent history of the place, an intimate and emotional take on our childhood and path through life.

Memory spins around itself, but it requires of mirrors and windows to stay on the move, all in order to keep reinventing itself. Through the Strappo technique, used by anthropologists and archaeologists to detach and restore mural paintings from walls, Romero gives us that possibility.

COLLECTIONS

There are cities hiding things that nobody sees; instead of looking at something more spectacular, Romero focuses on what goes unnoticed, but has been there for a long time. The project is set on discovering what history and time have made to street paintings, it's an aesthetic approach to the clothing of a city that, like any other space, became a place that turned into a memory.
