Reseña 

Nació en Barcelona 1974,(España), estudió bellas Artes, Arquitectura interior e Historia del arte. En el ámbito docente ha ejercido como profesor de Diseño de Interiores, Escaparatismo y Artes Visuales, así mismo ha realizado varias conferencias nacionales e internacionales. Alfredo ha sido premiado en prestigiosos concursos de pintura, interiorismo y arte objeto. Sus exposiciones han recorrido galerías y museos tanto de España como fuera del país.

 

Cuenta con con los documentales:

1. “Hombre pintando”, premiado en el certamen “Documenta Madrid 08”.

2. “La Esencia de la Ausencia” por el director Eber García en el 2010, y “Vestigios de Nuestros Tiempos”2017.

Primer premio Nahúm Zenil libro objeto “Porción degustativa”. En el 2012 es seleccionado con el proyecto "EspacioVida" en la VII Muestra Monográfica Media Art, como parte del XI Festival Internacional de la imagen (Manizales, Colombia).

 

Director del colectivo Arte Embrión con el cual fue seleccionado en el festival de artes Visuales de la Habana (Cuba) con la instalación efímera “Latex-tura es la Habana”. Ha sido Subdirector de Educación e Investigación Artística del Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura y  coordinador de Artes Visuales.

Seleccionado en la II Bienal de Arte Veracruz 2014 (México) y en el Art Prize in Michigan 2015 (EEUU) con la obra “Representación Empírica de un hecho existente”.

Finalista en la XI bienal de arte Joaquín Clausell en Campeche con “Vestigios de Nuestros tiempos”. Artista Invitado a FILUX (Festival Internacional de la Luz) con la Pieza Liquit 399ª.

Actualmente, Alfredo tiene exposiciones  que recorren diversas galerías y museos nacionales e internacionales, se encuentra al mis tiempo grabando su nuevo documental y ha fundado su estudio en la ciudad de Mérida, Yucatán.

 

Review

Alfredo Romero was born in 1974 in Barcelona, Spain.  He now lives and works in Mexico.    Romero studied Fine Art, interior architecture, graphic design and Art History at the School of Arts Applications and Offices of Rubi, Barcelona, Spain; The School of Design EDRA, Barcelona, Spain and the Technical School of Architecture, Barcelona, Spain.

 

Alongside his art practice, early in his career Romero was commissioned architectural designs for clients such as Hermes and others. He also taught Interior Design, Window Dressing, and Visual Art. He served as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Culture in Veracruz, Mexico.

 

Throughout the years, Romero has brought his art practice to higher levels.  He is now an internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary artist. Over the years, he has experimented with different techniques, mediums, processes and technologies. He is in a constant creative quest, without any limits or boundaries. The artist has a keen interest in translating traces of history in relation with the contemporary and the future.  His artistic language is universal and linked to the human imprint in the Universe. He is a visionary in pushing his approach to creation and developing new techniques and art projects.

 

 In the last few years, he has given part of his time to a project that he is passionate about, an archeological project to safekeep the culture of the street of Mexico “Vestiges of Our Times”.

 

His artworks have been exhibited in Europe, South America, Asia and USA, in Biennales, prominent galleries and international art fairs. Romero’s art pieces are also part of important art collections and museums.

 

Alfredo Romero is a multidisciplinary artist that works with a wide variety of mediums, from paint, to found objects, strappo, gold leaf, wood, metal and stainless steel.  Through is body of work and his career, he has achieved to marry the best of both worlds between architecture, design and art, as to what relates to both two-dimensions and three-dimensions.   Romero is a creative, a creator of ideas, concepts and artistical visions.  Within respect to the history and the contemporary, the way the artist gives life to objects, buildings, paintings, collages, and sculptures has its own singular signature.
